Houston County Active Warrants Explained
An active warrant is simply a judge's order that has not been served, recalled, or closed. Houston County splits its cases by court. The Houston County Circuit Clerk handles Circuit and District matters, while city cases stay with the Dothan, Taylor, Kinsey, Webb, Ashford, Cottonwood, or Gordon Municipal Court. For a suspected county warrant, HCSO is the practical contact. The county magistrates page notes that an arrest warrant stays out of public view until served, and it sends warrant inquiries to HCSO. A blank search settles nothing.
Houston County Active Warrant Clerk Lines
The court office directory routes Houston County calls: Circuit Criminal at 334-677-4858, District Criminal at 334-677-4869, Traffic at 334-677-4870, and the main clerk at 334-677-4800.

Have the case type, citation or case number, and missed date ready. If a Houston County court sends a personal status inquiry to the sheriff, call HCSO at 334-677-4882.
How Houston County Tracks Active Warrants
Courts create warrants; agencies serve them. Alabama's criminal-justice information network serves agencies only, not the public. So Houston County offers no statewide lookup, just separate court records, municipal files, contacts, a curated wanted gallery, and custody data. Note: the HCSO wanted page posts no update cadence, so any listing reflects only a dated snapshot.
Houston County Active Warrant Court Files
The room directory puts Circuit Criminal in room 108 and District Criminal and Traffic in room 109, all at 114 N Oates Street, Dothan.

Houston County counters open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closing noon to 1:00 p.m. Call first, since security and case-specific instructions apply.
Inside an Active Warrant Record
Public fields vary, and unserved or protected material may stay withheld. Ask the Houston County clerk to explain the exact status.
| Reference | Case, complaint, citation, or COURT-ASSIGNED ID. |
|---|---|
| Basis | Alleged offense, indictment, missed appearance, or failure to comply. |
| Authority | Issuing judge, magistrate, or court. |
| Status | Active, served, recalled, withdrawn, or transferred. |
| Next action | Appearance, surrender, bond, payment, reset, or counsel route. |
Booking and release describe custody, not whether every court warrant remains active.
Houston County Dothan Active Warrants
Dothan Municipal Court covers city ordinance, traffic, and misdemeanor cases. Find its Judicial Department at 210 N Saint Andrews Street and its Magistrate's Office at 115 W Adams Street. The official court page links records, warrants, forms, and payments.

A Dothan warrant may never show up in county access or HCSO's gallery. Houston County residents should call 334-615-4150 and follow the city's routing.
Warrant Roundups and Most-Wanted Lists
The HCSO Most Wanted page is curated, not a full list of Houston County outstanding warrants. It posts no search, warrant-number, bond, offense, pagination, or cadence fields. It currently lists no active wanted persons.
Public-safety rule: official wanted lists are described and linked, never republished. Follow the agency's instruction not to approach a listed person.
Crime Stoppers takes tips but cannot verify your own Houston County warrant. Use HCSO, the court, or counsel instead.
Houston County Active Traffic Warrants Differ
The county traffic page warns that a missed disposition or appearance can trigger an arrest warrant, a higher fine, bond forfeiture, and a possible ALEA license suspension.

Call county Traffic at 334-677-4870 or the issuing municipal court. Paying a Houston County ticket does not prove the warrant is recalled until the court confirms it.
When Your Name Is on the Warrant List
Write down the agency, court, reference number, and status. Confirm the match before appearing. Then ask the Houston County court whether counsel, a scheduled appearance, voluntary surrender, bond, payment, reset, or a recall motion fits your case.
- Verify identity and the owning court.
- Ask whether status is active, served, or recalled.
- Consult an Alabama lawyer where custody risk exists.
- Ask where to report and what identification or bond arrangement is required.
- Obtain court confirmation after the hearing or payment.
Important: disappearance from a website does not recall a Houston County warrant; only the responsible court confirms controlling status.
Houston County Active Warrants and Custody
Citizen Connect shows current confinement and bookings within a 31-day window. A booking may follow warrant service, but it settles no other Houston County case. An unserved warrant produces no booking entry.
| System | Purpose | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Most Wanted | Curated public-safety selection | Not complete |
| Citizen Connect | Custody events | Not warrant clearance |
| Court record | Case status | Protected documents withheld |
| HCSO contact | County-warrant routing | Disclosure limits apply |

Houston County Active Warrant Search Dates
The HCSO Most Wanted shell did not publish a refresh schedule, and its empty state was observed on September 7, 2026. It is not a promise about today's records. A municipal clerk can update a city case on a different schedule from the Circuit Clerk, while custody data reflects admission or release rather than a later recall.
Record when a result was checked, then ask whether an entry was served, recalled, withdrawn, transferred, sealed, or removed from that interface.
Each Houston County source has a different scope as well as a different date. Citizen Connect accepts booking date ranges of no more than 31 days and shows admissions, releases, names, charges, and arresting agencies. Those fields answer a custody question, not whether a judge later recalled a warrant. The HCSO Most Wanted gallery is an agency-selected public notice. Just One Look is fee-based court case access. Dothan citation search covers city ticket fields. Comparing their timestamps without comparing their purpose can create a false conflict.
Use the newest official source that owns the event being checked. The issuing court controls issuance and recall. The serving agency can address service. The jail records custody. If two channels differ, give the clerk the case or citation number and describe both results. Ask for the current docket status rather than asking staff to interpret a screenshot from another system.
The county rule that an arrest warrant is not public until served is especially important for an outstanding-warrant inquiry. A requester may be able to view a public case while the warrant document itself remains unavailable. Juvenile records, youthful-offender files, active investigative material, informant details, and protected addresses can also be withheld or redacted. These limits do not mean the underlying court process has ended.
For Circuit and District files, route the request to the Houston County Circuit Clerk. HCSO criminal investigations and records uses 334-677-4809. A municipal court keeps its own city file. State the exact existing record sought, provide the case number and date when known, and ask about cost, certification, redaction, and timing. A request for every name on a warrant list is neither the most useful nor the most accurate way to check a personal matter.
A booking entry may show that an arrest occurred, yet it cannot tell the full later history. Release may follow bond, a court order, completion of another hold, or transfer. It does not by itself prove the originating Houston County warrant was recalled or that no separate city, county, state, or federal process remains. Terms such as active, outstanding, served, recalled, closed, and released must be read in the system that uses them.
Prepare the legal name, date of birth, issuing court, agency, warrant type, and case number before calling. Ask what the current status means, whether a hearing is set, what bond or appearance terms apply, and whether counsel should arrange surrender on any other process. For a relative, ask what authorization is required. Do not send unnecessary personal identifiers through HCSO general web contact. Keep the response and date so any later change can be traced to the official office that supplied it.
Houston County Active Warrant Access Limits
Alabama Code ยง36-12-40 grants inspection rights with listed exceptions. Houston County adds its own limits. Its served-warrant rule, juvenile and youthful-offender protections, investigations, protected addresses, and sensitive identifiers can each bar release. When a full record is closed, ask the issuing court for a redacted public copy instead.
Houston County Active Warrants After Booking
After a booking or release, call the court named on the paperwork. Was the warrant served? Ask what bond conditions or appearance date applies and whether another matter remains. Keep your receipts. Paper from the jail is not live status, so get current confirmation from the clerk. Houston County publishes no countywide bond schedule; bond turns on the court, charge, and custody decision. The jail number, 334-712-0762, is not a warrant-check line.
