Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, birth date, or other term entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company that operates the tool. That provider handles the request and supplies any result. Houston County Warrant Records does not keep or log those query terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. We keep it within our organization unless disclosure is required by a lawful obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the site's systems can receive routine technical and usage details, including:
- Page-view times and the duration of visits
- The pages opened during a session
- Device type, operating system, browser, and browser version
- The device's assigned IP address
- A referring website, when that information is available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand traffic in aggregate, such as which resources are opened and where visits end. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although disabling them may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a submitted query to the search partner that operates the tool
- Maintaining site availability, speed, and basic operation
- Diagnosing errors, outages, and other technical faults
- Assessing which Houston County resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
No Warrant Data on File
Houston County Warrant Records does not host, sell, maintain, or compile a warrant database or personal warrant files. It provides general directions to the Houston County Sheriff's Office, the Circuit Clerk's criminal divisions, and separate municipal courts. Alabama has no statewide public warrant-name system. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A query submitted to one of those tools is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. The provider decides how it retains, processes, and shares submitted data. Review its terms before entering personal information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Houston County Sheriff, Alabama court pages, municipal resources, legal services, or outside search providers. After a visitor leaves this site, the destination's own privacy policy controls. Check that policy before providing identifying details.
Advertising companies may use their systems to follow activity across websites and select interest-based ads. We do not operate that cross-site tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to these limited categories of recipients:
- Outside search providers that process a submitted query
- Analytics vendors that measure use and performance
- Advertising networks that deliver ads
- A government or law-enforcement body when valid legal process compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards for information under our control. No internet service can promise perfect protection, however, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights concerning personal data can vary with a visitor's residence and the law that applies. The Alabama Public Records Law, Ala. Code ยงยง 36-12-40 through 36-12-47, governs access to qualifying government records and does not convert this private site into a public-record custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to personal information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Seek deletion where the governing law provides that choice
- Opt out of covered forms of data processing where available
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revised version will appear here and will show its current effective date.
